    Just moved my '98 35ft Mariner from Seattle to Everett. No problems, engines purred along and this time I didn’t have to slow down for others wakes. My last boat was a Bayliner 2452, seemed I had to slow for everyone’s wake.

    Had it at 3600rpm and was doing 25mph, not bad I'd say.

    Once at Everett, they picked it up with a massive forklift and placed it on blocks. Now for cleaning...

    When you meet a 50'SF with its bow up you'll be slowing so don't get lulled into a false sense of security. Good luck with the boat though. That 24 Bayliner is one of the worst designs ever produced and most manufacturers have it: big house with a single I/O 22' to 30'. Very many new boaters are scared off by twins (especially the expense) and note the cabin size and don't see the value in the twins. Then they try to dock and leard about wind and current and that from 6' forward of the transom it's nothing but a big sail. Once they learn to handle it though they understand about playing the elements. Then a couple of years later they move up and I get a panic call "my new boat has 2 motors" and I tell them that their lives just got so much easier. Enjoy your new ride. 35' is a good size.

    I would have to agree about using the elements to my advantage in the 24fter. I was stressing the part about going though the Ballard locks not know how I would maneuver such a bigger boat....but you’re correct, frankly it was so easy I forgot how I maneuvered in so easily and quickly. With these twins I have some learning.

    It's just more and better tools to get the job done with and we all know what it means to have the right tool for the job.:)
