I am looking for any info. on the Trumpy Motor Yachts: Windsong or Windsong II. If you have any info., please forward to me. Thank you.
"Windsong II" originally "Rumak III" O/N 270489 was built in 1955, Trumpy contract #372 is a 79' Cruiser style MY. According to USCG Doc. records she is currently named "Annabelle" and hails from Islesboro, Maine. Former names (not necessarily in order) include: Rumak III, Bettco, Windsong II, Entre Deux Mers, Iliana, La Contessa, Oz, Oshea, Windsong, Hissar II, and Osceola. This old gal seems to have had a somewhat colorful history. Here is a somewhat recent photo of "Annabelle" as she passed by Atlantic Yacht Basin on the ICW in Great Bridge Virginia. Photo by Chuck Grice of Virginia Yacht Brokers.
She has returned from 2 years in the med and winters in Fl, summers in Maine. I have spent a lot of time on board as the present owner is a good friend. PM me, and I can send you more info. Best, Maldwin

Trick or Treat Annabelle is spending the night at Wacca Wache Marina in Murrells Inlet, SC on her way south for the winter. I saw her two years ago in Fernandina and she looks even better tonight. Anyone know where Innisfall and Freedom are?
Annabelle is a 'day' late. She is back at Wacca Wache Marina for the night, exactly one year and one day since her last visit. Still beautiful tho!
Last Saturday, Freedom was in Beaufort NC. The boat looked wonderful, and thanks to this forum, I knew immediately it was a Trumpy. A friend took a picture, which I will post, if I can figure out how to resize it, so as not to violate forum rules.
My grandfather was the Yacht Captain of the Windsong II back in the 60's-70's range out of Ft. Lauderdale. Wonder if that was the same boat? He was then in the Yacht Val our in the 70's out of the same marina. I would love to find that boat. Great childhood memories on that boat! The owners at that time were the Coleman's.
If the yacht that you're referring to was FKA "Valcoeur" she is a houseboat style Burger now "Bonaparte" built in 1964 and is the subject of this thread: http://www.yachtforums.com/threads/burger-bonaparte.16720/#post-241809
My dad , Albert Auld, owned Windsong/ Rumak III in 1960's and again in the 1990's, he paid around $1000 for it, was a gift from the previous owner who let it go and could not afford it anymore, i have a few pictures from the day. When he got it around 1998 the hull and motors were in excellent condition, the deck and cosmetics needed major work, I told him to stay away and he bought it anyways, glad he did, was a great project I spent 100's of hours working on. He sold it to a guy who spent a million restoring it in Maine, not sure whats up with it these days.
Hi Dave, Welcome to YachtForums! I met your father at his home in Fort Lauderdale around 10 years ago. At that time he owned a 53' Hatteras Motor Yacht that was for sale at his dock. He and I had a wonderful conversation while my customer looked at the boat. He told me of his Trumpy Yacht ownership experience. Your Dad was a fascinating man and I really enjoyed hearing his stories. I read that he had passed some time after. Thank you for posting the photo and reminding me of our meeting.
Hi Eric, Yes that was him, miss him so much. This trumpy was a great experience for me, so happy to see it in great ownership. My dad and me loved this boat and it meant a lot to us. Here it is in Treasure cay around 1998. Dave
Here it is in Bimini in 2011, still used a lot, last I heard it summers in Maine then winters in palm beach every year.
They even took it to the Med for a season a while back. And it is in remarkable condition. Spends the summers on Islesboro, Maine
My Dad, Capt. Charlie Wheeler Sr. "Skippered" the Windsong and the Gailsong for the Brown Family (Ky) in the 50's and 60's. Incredible memories ! Thanks for the pictures. The name Garvin is very familiar. "Cheers" Charlie Jr.
