My boss is going to buy 23-27m motor yacht and redesign and tuning it (interior) Could you advice some shipyards in Turkey, which could do it good, but not expensive?
Hi, There was a thread in YF last year on the similar subject: www.yachtforums.com/forums/general-yachting-discussion/12838-boatyard-turkey.html Will the yacht be an aluminum/steel or a GRP boat? If there are any woodwork involved, you could check out a company called 'Ber Line', which does interior work for the major builders. Their website is www dot ber-line dot com. Regards, VR
I think aluminum/steel. But for wood company link thanks too. Maybe he will buy the second wooden boat. He wants to repaint yacht and change furniture in it. It's the main task I also found the list of Turkish shipyards for refit There are 20 shipyards. Which of them is best? If my boss buy the boat which locatad in Napoli , it will be easear way to Malta, than in Turkey. Are the aompanyes in Malta do their work better and cheaper? Thank's for answers. Michael.
The link that I have sent you is a company that makes wooden furniture and designs interiors on a project basis. They do not build wooden boats. Repainting an aluminum/steel boat is not that difficult, you would not need to go to a shipyard in Istanbul to do it. There is a company called 'Yachtworks' in Turkey, with facilities in Didim Marina, using the marina's 400 ton crane. I have included the links: www dot yachtworks dot info www dot dogusmarina dot com dot tr/didim Here below are two shipyards (not recommended for a yacht), in Istanbul: www dot gemak dot com www dot tuzlagemi dot com I do not recommend the yacht being serviced in these shipyards as they do repair work for cargo ships/tankers and might charge a higher price than a yard servicing boats. You are leasing a portion of the work area, so they will try to balance the opportunity cost of placing your yacht there. My advice would be go to Malta or if you're in Turkey, try one of the southern marinas like Alacati, Orhaniye, Didim or Netsel (Marmaris) marinas' service facilities. Cheers, VR
I won't give a recommendation for Malta as it's been so long since I've been there and with so many changes over the last few years I don't know one yard from the next. However they have their own yachting directory online which is a great source of info. I've taken a steel yacht there and had welding, paintwork and carpentry all done to a great standard. I also know that MY Osprey which is a wood yacht, is based in Malta for each winter for it's refit. I hope this helps www dot maritimedirectory dot com dot mt/
vivariva, MYCaptainChris Thank's ! And the other question. If, for example, my boss buy white yacht and then he will repaint it into black color, should he change documents?
