Merry Christmas Capt. Bill and to all YF members and admins. Be safe. Eat too much, laugh too much, love too much and have a ton of fun.
Happy Holidays from high up on a mountain in Helen, GA, nesting in a tree house known as the Red Star Lodge with my GF's family, awaiting my first white Christmas in 30 years. The forecast calls for 1" to 3" of snow tomorrow and we're praying it melts by Sunday AM when we're scheduled to depart on a steep, squiggly road that's one part roller coaster and two parts highway to hell. And that's on a good day. For Christmas in North Georgia, my early present was a full-blown, fleece lined flannel jacket. I'm hoping for a camouflaged computer case to complete my redneck wardrobe. Should be back in the saddle by Monday, but will need another week to get rid of the twang. http://www.flickr.com/photos/chargrillkiller/4255707688/lightbox/
A very merry Christmas to all!!! My wife & I have just about concluded the preperations. A BIG pile of presents around the tree for my 8 year old son and 6 year old daughter, a few mysterious sooty footprints coming from the fireplace, cookies half eaten & a present precariously caught on the roof/gutter (a new one for this year) which must have fallen from santa's hard landing. My son is very concerned about the reindeer landing without snow on the roof & predicted a hard landing. We were checking out the "NORAD" Santa tracker online http://www.noradsanta.org/ & he was making great progress. At last check, a NORAD staff Seargent announced santa had even visited the Space Station & was predicted to head to Northern Africa before heading across the Atlantic. I LOVE Christmas!! I really miss my dad this year & mom isn't doing well but the kids are keeping the spirits up. Oh yeah, the deal on my Bertram which we thought was falling apart came back to life & a large deposit showed up yestarday! Closing in two weeks!!! Merry Christmas! David
Likewise to all. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Hanukkah, Festivus, etc. whichever you celebrate. And if you don't (I actually know a few that don't celebrate one ounce of the holidays) I hope you have a fantastic Saturday! Be safe all. Fill it with friends, family, and great wine, and all should be well!
Merry Christmas to one and all. Unfortunatley my goose was too big to fit in the oven, so have just had to get the jigsaw from the toolbox and cut the legs and rump off. A good start to the Holidays!!!
Well, speaking of white, I probably made it to the top at Nefteugansk (far north, -30C). Nop, internet is not a given there Wish a happy New Year to the community!
I'm back from winter wonderland. We went to the North Georgia mountains, hoping for a white Christmas. On Christmas morning, it became the best present ever...
Being in the big boat biz, I'm accustomed to seeing big white canvasses, but this one took my breath away...
On the night before, it was hard to believe 4" of snow was on the way. Temp was mid-50's. Not a cloud in the sky. Perfect sunset over one of the Appalachian alps.
Wishing all YF Members and Guests a Very Merry Christmas and a New Year of continued good health and abundance!
Tonight is the winter solstice. Anybody else notice that everyone on the roads and in the stores are nuts today? Well, for all those who survive the next few days may you have a very Merry Christmas full of love and good cheer. (And if you happen to be the guy who was tailgaiting me while having an animated conversation on your cell phone, please get off my roads.) Good health to all.
Same to you all...and thank you so much for all the great information you have provided me with over the past year. You all rock, Pelagic Dreams
