    Hello,

I am in the market for a 2005 - 2006 59 Marquis. I am interested to hear performance feedback from owners on cruise speed and if the 715's would be "under powered" paired with this boat. I do not want buyers remorse but having previously owned a 56 Carver with Volvo 675's I was pleased with the performance and am familiar with servicing it.

No idea about how that boat performs with 715hp each side, but if the choice is between the two engines in the title, as much as I'm not a VP fan, I'd rather have the D12 than MTU series 60 engines.
Didn't they possibly build the boat also with the D12/800?
Which was actually a 775 hp engine, but closer to the MTU power, in case anyone would suggest you that with the 715 the boat is disappointing.

That Series 60 is a brute work horse. Why would you dislike it?

I know that in commercial rating it's an engine that runs forever.
But it's about the 825 hp version, which was the most stressed, that I'm aware of some huge bills.

Anyway, I'm not a VP fan either, as I said.
In the 800hp ballpark, the Cat 3406/C15 would be my first choice, and MAN the second.
Not sure about whether the Marquis was also built with them, though.

There are a few 59 Marquis out there with C15 Acert engines, but not in the 2005 or 2006 vintage. I have since been able to gather the Volvo 715 will cruise the boat at 22knts and the MTU 825 @ 25knts. Would love to find a good one built with D12 800's but not sure if any exist outside of the Marquis 55LS.

3 of my favorite engines. Not scared of any of them. Properly maintained, all should offer great life with performance.
