Hi, my wife and I are considering a Maritimo 48 to cruise the southeast coast (ICW and offshore) and the Bahamas. Any thoughts about the Maritimo??

    Thanks, Stonie

Next to my pen is a Maritimo 52, which was purchased on the east coast of Australia at the Maritimo factory. It then was sailed on it's own bottom around the top of Australia to Perth on the West Coast.

The owner was (and still is) absolutely exstatic about the boat (and the trip). The trip was also written up on one of Maritimo's brochures. Other anecdotal dsicussions around this part of the world is that they are one of the best production boats you can buy - and at a very fair price.

Thanks! Great info. It took me a minute to figure out (I think) that "pens" are "slips" down under.

Yes, Stonie, 'pens' are 'slips'. Sorry about my Aussie slang.
