This might be of relevant interest to Floridians, but then maybe not. Am posting as an FYI: Ecology and Explanation of the Mangrove Trimming & Preservation Act Join us for a DEP webinar on Apr 23, 2015 at 1:45 PM EDT. https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/1227006963454984706 This is from: Submerged Lands & Environmental Resources Coordination Program in Tallahassee
Do you know...is there a problem? Do we have people just diving in and trimming mangroves that are not right on their own shoreline? I'm just glad we don't have any but you can trim to protect your own riparian view. I guess I don't grasp that people would be going into the mangrove areas and starting to trim. Someone in my presence is giggling at the position of Professional Mangrove Trimmer a bit, but I see why knowledge would be needed. I guess I'm just curious as to what suddenly led them to put on the seminar regarding a law that was passed 19 years ago. Thanks for informing us though and you did make us curious.
