Anyone have a ballpark on MAN V12-1360 5000Hr service estimate? 2009 Viking50C, engines run gently past 3 yrs I've owned her, but she was a traveling fish hunter before that. Thanks.

    Welcome to Yacht Forums.
Many MAN kids from all over the world on YF.
I luv MANs. Sadly, their hours maintenance schedules (by factory manual) can be expensive.
Hopefully some MAN operators will come on soon and help answer your question. Maybe with some real life ideas.

To help them, Can you answer some questions?
Has any previous services been preformed?
Any issues during their lives to date?
    Current hours?
Any oil labs? Notes from these labs?
    EGT info?
    Gently? How hard?

    Ah, Viking 50. Congrads..☺

The only quote that matters are the ones in your area that you would trust to do the work, call them.

    To quote an old favorite;
    Ah, but there's the rub..
A trustworthy MAN shop? Sadly far and few between.

Skippy J is correct in finding a trust worthy MAN shop.
AND confident on their future services.
    AND sticking with them.

But knowing what other trustworthy shops charge for similar work could be helpful instead of just BOAT (Bending Over And Taking-it).

There are so many factors that go into the cost, was all previous maintenance done, actual engine access, drive time to/from dealer's shop, etc. I've found MAN dealers to be the most honest. I have no issues trusting Marine Diesel Specialists or Scott Power locally and have always had great service and scheduling from both. The Key Largo dealer I never dealt with but he was going to drive 4 fuel filters to meet me at a marina 40 minutes each way for no additional charge as I was bringing a yacht up from Key West but turned out to be a different issue, one time.........

Yes, I tried to inquire on some of this in post #2.
    That's all great for you.
For years I have typed that MAN was poorly supported in the Jax area and some supposed MAN techs are crooks & slobs.
The OP is in Texas just asking for some guidance.

    Texas, Humm..
There is a shop in Houston I would recommend calling.
They offered parts and support when I had to work on MANs in Jax FL.

Performance Diesel is also the U.S. east/south coast MAN distributor... although I've read Viking has a direct deal with MAN.

They also used to have a tool on their website to find MAN support in various locations... but it looks like their site is "under construction" just now and I don't see that link anymore...

In any case, they can likely do fairly accurate ballpark figures for various service levels, and could be the best choice anyway if the boat is in Texa$.

Thanks to all efforts replied so quickly. I appreciate having something like this to refer to. I am familiar with Performance Diesel up in Houston. I wanted to try to get some intel from the front line owners/operators before I called a shop and they respond with $$$ in their eyes. Thanks again.
