The biggest small scale ship has been achieved by a french guy, far away from the sea, in his backyard after 11 years of determination...

Mr. Francois Zanella repoduced in scale 1/8 in his garden the Majesty of the Seas totalling 11 years of hard work to get a 33.5 meter in length ship with 4.75 m width, he used 90 tonnes of materials.

The vessel is now floating somewhere around the french channels with his family on board...

Sooo... what does one call this? A "homebuilt" mega-yacht? 33.5m qualifies I'd say... :D

    Rene,

Sorry I missed your earlier post...

Because things get pretty hectic behind the scene, sometimes I don't get a chance to read each post. Believe it or not... this is actually a compliment. If you were a new member, your post would get checked right away. ;)

So... thank you Rene and Absys. You've officially made my modelling skills look like a child playing with Legos.

Being new to the forum i did not see your post earlier Rene...

The guy desserved a new posting anyway !

He made a movie about the whole construction of the " Paquebot " and "THALASSA" the french TV magazine made a very good report also covering this construction ups and down until reaching the water...

Thumbs up for you Mr. Zanella !:)

Many skippers will get surprised to see this vessel quiet unique !
