Luxury sail yacht for 1-4 ppl w/ master bedroom?

  1. I liked what I saw of the Leopard catamarans, but would only expect to care about more than one bedroom in exceptional cases. Would rather have one bedroom of a luxury style. I suppose guests would be a possibility, but probably one second bedroom of small size would be fine.

Anyone know some yachts that might be what I'm looking for?

    Well, what size, what budget???

    Define luxury?

To many people a luxury sail yacht is going to be 60' +...

You mentioned leopard, nice cat but not necessarily what I d call luxurious. Most cats come either as owners version with an owners suite in one hull and two staterooms in the other. One cat which has a great main stateroom is the discovery 50. Great layout.

Otherwise most monohull will have a large master act, but will always have one or two staterooms up front

Yeah, define luxury???? To a lot of sailboaters, a cold shower and a light to read their book is considered a luxury.

I ran a Pacific Seacraft that would probably fit the bill. It was a 44' or 48', I think 48' but cannot remember. I never sailed it, just ran it under motor to a dockwise freighter.
  4. Not sure on budget. I suppose that might not be an issue if focusing on sail boats / small yachts which could be suited for even solo use.

The Discovery 50 looks pretty nice.

I'm too unclear on what I'm looking for. Happen to know any good resources that review the variety of types of boats and lifestyles possible?

Have you looked at the Jeanneau 57 with the aft owners cabin, or her sister, the Beneteau 57?
There's not a ton of headroom in the master, particularly over the bunk, not as though much is needed, but they are very accommodating. My Father has the B57, and has been quite happy with it for several years now. We sleep 6 on his comfortably.

I looked at a J57 a couple years back at Strictly Sail and might be able to dig up some pics if they'd be of interest to you.

More luxurious that that? I'd guess Oyster would be the next look perhaps a couple others (custom builders). Up from there, the ocean is your sea of ideas for a custom build.
