Shortly after competing in the Observer Single Handed Transatlantic Race she was converted into the charter yacht CLUB MEDITERRANEE. In July 1997, PHOCEA was purchased by her existing Owner and she began her transformation into a luxury sailing yacht at Lurssen. Whilst retaining her unmistakable identity, she has benefited from major interior and exterior upgrading throughout. The interior boasts fine living and accommodation areas with beautiful wood panelling, tasteful decorations and some exquisite David Linley furniture. The Owner's suite, commanding fine views, is situated on the main deck whilst the VIP guest cabin and four other double cabins, all with full ensuite facilities, are located on the lower deck. Well, this is not about her refit but rather about her sale. the Lurssen "Phocea" is currently up for sale as many of you already know but it is being reported that there has been a price reduction. She is now asking 9.9-Million Euros down from 11-Million Euros.

Apparently, crew of the 75-meter "Phocea" have pleaded guilty basically for breaching Vanuatu's Custom and Immigration. 13 crew and the captain have all been found guilty. The yacht was allegedly detained in Vanuatu after police there raided the vessel and found illegal documents with forged signatures posing as official documents. It is alleged that the yacht/crew were involved in passport fraud and drugs operations.
