We will likely see this project this year. We have not seen her since her technical launching in 2021.

Project 'Luminance' is soon ready to launch. She is now visible at the shed in Amund, Germany.

Interestingly she has three props instead of the regular two screws.

I think she has the same configuration of Opera and Blue with an Azimuth Pod Drive.

Looks like a more modern "Crescent".

    I had the same thought.
Actually she seems a mix of Crescent, Flying Fox and Scheherazade. There are elements of all three yachts...is EO loosing his creative juices?

I'm wondering if this is just slightly stretched Lurssen 140m class boat. Like, we all know that Nord, Flying Fox, Scheherazade and Crescent is the same chocolate, just different wrapping as they all are generally built on the same platform. I'm wondering if this is the same, because the layout seems very very close to that.

The sat dome balls on this one is one of the biggest I have ever seen, I think. Reminds me of Amadea, just different layout. No retractable heli hangar on upper heli pad (like Crescent or Nord), but I have to say that design is growing on me, she does look very nice!

Ten years ago, I read an article where Peter Lurssen was saying you can stretch a platform by 10% in all dimensions without compromising stability, seakeeping and whatever...so it could be the same platform of Flying Fox, Scheherazade, Crescent, and Nord (and I would say...a platform that EO designed for Serene and repurposed for Lurssen) or...it could be the other platform...Opera and Blue. The propulsion system is the same, an Azimuth pod drive and two propeller shafts.
Having said that...I'm more for the first platform. I think you can stretch it from 135m to 148m

It could simply be the fact that there are only a finite number of ways to make an object of these proportions look good/great while maintaining it's usefulness, buildability, seaworthiness, etc.

Plus I'm certain EO designs what his customers want to see, what they think looks good.

Temper tantrums!? I'm so new to yachting that I don't have any context to that - but I totally get the reasoning.

As for Espen, don't you guys find it odd, if not sad, that he made his name designing more modern yachts compared to the old guard but now his firm is used by clients to simply re-hash the same designs.

I would argue that Opera is stretched Flying Fox class boat as well, the same as this one. Just looked it up - it's 5 decks from swim platform to top heli deck. The same as for FF/Scheharezade/Nord/Crescent. General layout of things is the same as well.
Blue is 6 decks for the same measure. And because I got curious - so is Dilbar. So my money is on the fact that all above are sort of FF class boats and Blue/Dilbar is a step up for the big boys.

Some personal obtained pictures of Luminance from todays visit in the area. Did not have very much time, the weather was nasty and I had 4 of my young grandchildren with me. My driver could not tame them for very long in the bus.

Sorry gentlemen, I know beautiness is in the eye of the beholder but I have decided for myself that I do not like her design and her colours. Not my neck of the woods. Opera looks by far better.

    Just my 2 (Euro) cents
