Hello, there. I just bought a 1999 Luhrs 32 convertible and need to fix a few things. The "VDO four gauge cluster" (fuel - volt - 80 psi) doesn't work and I don't know where to buy a new one, do you have any suggestions? Then I have a problem with the throttles since one of the two levers doesn't stay in position. Do you know if I have to replace the whole group or if there is an internal part that I can replace? Thanks for your attention.
If I recall the original clusters were custom by VDO, then Sierra sold them under their label. If it is NOT Yanmar, I do not think these are CAN-Bus. If it is Yanmar, find a dealer or tech, if the whole cluster is dead, could be a few other things than the cluster. Hopefully a part number on the back of the unit. Good luck in Italy.
You can't buy them. Send them to Lauderdale for test and rework, but if all are inop in both clusters, I would do some more troubleshooting. 8 failures is unlikely. A simple 0-500 ohm potentiometer and some jumpers will let you test the fuel, oil pressure, and water temp. VDO Vanguard Four Way Unit: - Model 110 205 , Red or green LED lighting Temp: Gauge uses 46.6 - 447.5 ohms sending unit. 447.5 is 220F, 46.6 is 100F. Oil Pressure: The resistance scale is 240 Ohms to 33 Ohms. 220 Ohms at 5 psi, 150 Ohms at 25psi and 100 Ohms at 50 psi. All readings should be within +/- 10% of specification Fuel Level: 240 ohms empty, 33 ohms full Connections on back: Left side 2 pins are lighting pos and neg, Blue = pwr S1 - Tan - Temp S2 - Gray - Oil pressure S3 - Pink w/red or grn stripe - Fuel Level S4 - Purple - pos pwr S5 - Black - neg grd
You can send the cluster to Ft. Lauderdale speedometer shop and they will repair. VDO does not make the same cluster you have
