This is the Lurssen equipped with fuel cell technology, the designer is Marc Newsom and she is 114.20 meters in length. Here the first video https://www.instagram.com/reel/CpiW...d&ig_rid=a333f2b2-bcc1-4c7e-92b9-82dfd9a02ec0 and here a couple of pics https://www.kn-online.de/resizer/HU...ng.com/madsack/WFORR7YKHZG4DFR3OWCEXIESQ4.jpg https://images.noz-mhn.de/img/44309016/crop/cbase_16_9-w1920/2000818168/679415681/.jpg
Was Marc Newsom the guy who designed solaris? Can someone explain the power tech on this exciting project?
Yep, it's him. And..if you want to read...here some info about the system: https://issuu.com/marcogeels/docs/sbi_15-3_totaal_lr/s/12731893 or..if you don't want to read, here the Lurssen video:
Hopeful we will see more of this one given she’s owned by Yusaka Maezawa and has been sharing images of the build.
...and here some pics from Yusaku Maezawa's sm: https://www.instagram.com/p/Cpl1djgP9CB/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= https://twitter.com/yousuck2020/status/1634017059763023873
I'm not sure, but I think they are taking Cosmos to Kiel because Lurssen's docks are either occupied or undergoing structural modernisation work. Look the 2 Azipod on the foredeck/helipad.
What is going on with that bow? Is that some kind of in-construction bracing that will eventually be removed? Or, is it something else?
Bulbs are usually weighted which may require support until the hull is floated or internal bracing is finished. Bulbs not only push the bow wave further aft, their weight dampens longitudinal pitching. On a 363’ boat, the weight of that bulb would be significant.
They are moving her to the a new dock for the next building stage. Still looking...let's say...different.
They were busy prepping the steel for paint. She is all primed-up now. She will be interesting for sure. It appears that 4 large domes will sit on the bridgeroof.
Here you are the latest image of this yacht painted in prime. (MOD EDIT: Potential owner photo removed. Ownership generally is not discussed)
