    I have a client /vessel in need of purchasing re-manned or rebuilt MAN D2842 LZE 12 cyl. 1,100 HP motors. I've checked on line @ Diesel engine traders and put out some feelers in South Fl. and the oil patch with no luck. these mechanical MAN's were from the mid 90s and were in a lot of Sport fish so if any YF members know of any "Barn finds" any where in the world than please send me a PM.

    I have a email out to the Netherlands through diesel engine trader at the moment but u bring up a good point for the MAN factory Re- man and I'll follow up Thx!
    Hoping some of our Carolina Members / Builders have one or two motors tucked away under some old plywood in back of the buildings
    gathering moss ...

    Why does your client even want a pair of these engines? They vibrate and smoke a ton under 1000 rpms. Perhaps so he simply doesn't need the wiring harnesses,controls, computers to install common rails?

    I saw a set of these for sale online somewhere in South Florida. Running take outs, not new. Gold coast power in Fort Lauderdale has at least 1 of them, perhaps they know where the other one is. Also check with Marine Diesel Specialists and Scott Power in Ft. Lauderdale.

    I'm familiar with the local South Fl. contacts and have made inquiries hence the YF posting that reaches near & far / worlwide. The one unit that Steph. has @ Gold coast is mine. Still looking for a re-manned unit.
