A little while ago a friend of mine sent me a few hi-res pics of the interior & cockpit mock-ups of the all new Learjet 85. I figured some of our members here might be interested in seeing what it looks like. I resized the pics to fit the forum format, but if anyone wants the hi resolution versions, just drop me a PM with your email address.
Hi, Looks good. I have been lucky enough to travel in a few private jets but never felt it was polite to whip out the camera and snap away like the bug eyed tourist I felt like.
The key would be subtlety K1W1. I work in the aerospace industry, and still have never even been inside a private jet, let alone got a flight in one. The closest I've been to "private" flying was sitting in the right seat of my grandfathers Cherokee 140. LOL
I would love to have a private jet, mostly because of the time saving on the ground in both ends. Many owners of big yachts have also expressed that they rather sell the yacht than the jet if they were forced to choose...
Thanks for the pics Kevin. The mockup really doesn't look anything near mock I love anything luxury but yachts top them all. I have to go and do some research on this Lear 85 because I like what I am seeing!
Err - nice one - as i haven't been in physical-reach of a private jet, i'd love to travel on one, lets say from here to new zealand i'd take a bombardier global express xrs or maybe i'd take the bigger one, BBJ enough for dreaming, that's not happing in the next 10 years i guess
Great pics, Kevin. Like you, my private areonautical experiences have been limited to touch-and-gos in a 172. Question on your C85: what are the cut-outs for on both the Right and Left seats? Tell me they're not for "relief".
Loren, unlike the 172, the steering wheels are on piedestals, coming back when you are climbing. The wide angle lens makes them look far away, but they are probably pretty close to the chairs. At least it must be the main purpose...
I have been fortunate enough to ride on many jets..... A gulfstream IV, a V, a lear 45+35, a Citation V to name a few. I see them as just another means of transportation, although the Lear 45 was a lot of fun when the Captain put her through her paces taking off and banking and such. I think the interior looks nice, but wayyyyyy too much white between all of the walls ceiling etc...., way too spartan even a little more chrome and accents to go with the all white would work. What happened to nice varnished wood touches on the interior like the Gulfstreams or even Citations have? Maybe I'm getting old. LOL.......
The Gulfstream G650 is going to be a sweetheart. http://www.gulfstream.com/gulfstreamg650/ The number of G550 available right now is quite a change from a year ago when the delivery slots were 3 years+ down the road. My how times have changed. G550 greenies up for sale and "open to offers".
hey thats good news - so i got to get some money now, buy a small fleet (50+ pieces) and then sell after recession got to an end anyone lends me some 500 million euro?
The seats are all the way back on the tracks. For the pilots to reach the rudder pedals the seats go froward quite a bit, hence the "slot", otherwise the seats would block aft movement of the column. Some planes I have flown had electric seats with various buttons for forward/aft up/down movement, etc. Too far forward and you have to pull out the "Pilot's Jammed Balls checklist"
