I need to find a service manual for the 6.5 kw Kohler, sufficient to rebuild the unit. Also, a source for the parts (at a reasonable price). Thanks.

    Kohler Generator 6.5KW

Yeah, my Kohler 6.5 quit on me too. Running fine then shut itself down, now when I hold the start button down, its runs great, but when I let the start button go, it shuts down, its's not putting out any AC either, I have had an estimate of $2000+ to remove, repair and re-install. Sounds high to me.

Anybody out there know how to get their hands on a service manual for the Kohler 6.5KW generator???

    thanks!!!

I not familiar with that model by what you describe that may be a selonoid. This usually would be the first componate after the start button.

or try your local service center:

    Eric,
I'd forgotten about them, I used them for parts for my RV generator, they're great....
