My name is William and I have browsed this site in the past, but only till now I decided to join in on the discussion. I recently acquired my Captains license, but no stranger to boating. Have been a boater all my life mainly on fresh water Great Lakes. Cannot wait to finally get paid for what I love to do. Looking forward to the spring time here in Michigan to really get things going.

If anyone has any fresh advice for me or just say hello back, I would greatly appreciate it. Other than that I will continue to adsorb what I can on this site. Looking forward to some interaction with many of you. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to YF Will. I spent a couple of summers on the eastern shores of Lake Michigan as a teen. My dad kept his boat in Holland; a 65' Chris Craft RPH. One of about 5 built by CC. We regularly cruised down to Grand Rapids with a trip over to the Chicago Yacht Basin once each season. Little did I know, I was laying the foundation for a career. Like you, I'm getting paid to do what I love to do. ;)

I have motored a bit around Lake Michigan, Huron, and Erie. But mostly Lake St. Clair where I live. After a season or two of hopefully gainful employment around here I definitely have interest in seeking winter work in the south some day. Possibly Florida. One step at a time. Cannot wait to get started. First step though, networking. I appreciate the welcome from the both of you.

When I first saw your introduction post my brain misread your username as "LCS Captain" and my first thought was "well now, is that cool".

    Sorry.

    Argh, a sweet water sailor.?

    Welcome aboard.
I sailed and dived on lakes in Texas, better for the equipment, but not
    for the body.
Lots of good information on this forum, use the search function and see the depth of knowledge.
(Even non-boat related stuff: I leased a car 3 years ago and had questions on the contract, an expert popped up here and explained it all after I posted.
Also had questions on PC problems and viruses on my home computer, somebody on this forum advised me to go with 2 programs and it solved all my malvare and virus problems. Seriously, that was a big help, now have my 2011 Desktop running at full power, in the past I replaced my PC every 3 years as they slowed down quite a bit due to be viruses.)
This site and the members know boats as well.
