I guess my email account is next inline!

I couldn't but send him an email telling him what a punk he is!!

What a dirt bag, screwing with the effort and hard work of others and claiming a religious peace mission!!

I feel for those involved and investing time and effort for the public benefit.

We've been working around the clock on this for 4 days. I'm in the process of moving JF to a VPS server, then systematically disabling plug-ins. I think the latter is how they got in. I have JF hosted on a separate server from YF for safety and I'm suspect they may have gained access through this shared server.

This is a pretty serious issue because it means YF is vulnerable too. It's all the same coding and plug ins. Unfortunately, I have meetings tomorrow, followed by a Ferretti sea trial on Tuesday, then the Palm Beach Boat Show the rest of the week. I had travel plans immediately following the show, but have postponed indefinitely.

We have so much custom code on YF that it won't upgrade to the latest, more secure versions of vB so there may be a huge summer project ahead rebuilding YF from the ground up on a new platform. All of the data is secure for both sites. I maintain regular back-ups, so we should be able to port the database. I'm praying we won't have to do this!

I am your friend. I am here to help. I can travel to to south Florida and deal with these nuisance sea trials, meetings and boat shows for you while you slave for the forums.
After all, the sacrifices we all make for each other...

    Stay sane,

This is heart breaking, a hard job getting harder. I feel for you and wish I could help in any way.

Hopefully this cloud will pass faster and smoother than you think. Your contribution to the public is highly regarded and I bet all are praying for a quick recovery.

    What a shame.

It really sucks that this criminal hacked the forum, compromising data and usability.

I think you can convey all of the important bits with out the racial epithet.

The page the hijackers replaced JF with could be a diversion. If someone from the Middle East wanted to promote peace, as the page alludes, hijacking websites would only create more disdain, which could be exactly what these hackers are trying to accomplish.

I would be more suspect of enemies of the Middle East. Call me a conspiracy theorist.

Ok, you're a conspiracy theorist. Why sacrifice all the good will and hard work you've put into this valuable site. If they are sophisticated enough to hack, they are sophisticated enough to imitate some group they suspect will play to our "darksides". Just saying.

Just for jiggles and giggles, checked Google for Jet Forums and found this:

    Google

It would seem that the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme has taken first place on the listing.

    Hmmmm.

Perhaps the Chinese want us to be mad at the Japanese.

    Just saying.

You're right Walt. That's the reason why I edited the thread title to remove the proper name of their organization and I split the name JetForums into two separate words. With every post I make, every thread title you guys open and every review we write, I remain SEO conscious.
