Normally I have 2 zincs on each of my two 2"x 10' shafts. One yard guy suggested that I put 3 zincs on each shaft, and another said that it would probably over zinc it. What? Can one hang too many zincs on a boat?
YES, do not do it. Think of a zinc as a ground. Over zincing it will cause some metals to degrade as well.
If you are really concerned buy yourself a monitor, available .https://www.acdcmarineinc.com/shop/ac-dc-inc-instruments/ac-dc-inc-marine-corrosion-monitor/ Handy to have on boat if worried about corrosion.
I've seen boats in my marina with many shaft zincs and I wonder if that has a detrimental affect on shaft balance?
