My grandfather owned a ~42 Elco, in the late 50's. Boat was docked at marina on the Magothy river in Maryland. Previously, this boat was used during WWII to patrol the bay, and coast; boat registerd as the "Magenta."
Boat was sold, and later (in the 60's) was seen in Miami, FL.
I am anxious to know if she is still afloat, and would love to see it again.
    Looking for assistance.

The yacht "Magenta" you're looking for was O/N 228389 according to Lloyds Register from 1959. There is no active info on that Doc # in any database that I have access to. If she still exists, she could be state registered somewhere. If you really want to try to track her down, the next step would be to run an abstract of title with the Coast Guard to find out what her last documented name was. Currently there are only 10 vessels in "active" documentation status that are listed as being built by The Elco Works.
