I have a 48' Pacemaker Sportfisher that I am in the process of fixxing up. Not a full on resto, but theres a lot of working I'm doing. The boat is a 1972 and has seen different items attached to it over the years. Things like towers and outriggers etc. I've done some reading about Awlgrip and a little less reading about Interlux products. I have many years under my belt painting cars so I get the concepts. I'm looking for something tough that will last for years. I haven't sprayed gelcoat before but as I understand it's probably not practical for what I'm doing. Any input as to what product is consider the best would be great. And if I have left some information that is critical let me know. BTW its a fiberglass boat.

    Thanks
    William

Alexseal paint seems to have strong recommendations in the industry, albeit a newcomer to the industry. Not as widely available, but companies such as Hatteras have switched over from Awlgrip.

Awlgrip has been the gold standard in the industry since 1980, but some have a few negative reports (issues) on it over the last few years. Awlgrip, you can buy on the shelf all over the country along with all of the various components to mix it.

Interlux has been around a long time, but not nearly as many use it. I ran a yacht that was painted 13 years ago with Imron, and it still looks good, but is overdue for paint now.
