Hull of Yachting Development's 121' sloop turned

In Novemeber 2008, a major milestone was reached at the Yachting Developments building facility in New Zealand. The milestone was in lieu of the turning of a 121-foot hull for a Dubois designed sloop.

YD67 is the yard number at Yachting Developments and the turning of the hull represents a phase of the construction has been completed. "The hull design incorporates provision for sacrificial impact zones, these are visible in the photo above within areas of the stem/bow centerline. The sacrificial areas add increased structural integrity and safety to the vessel.

Lamination of the composite hull shell incorporated Eglass and carbon fiber multi-axial skins, and high strength foam cores. The vessel is built to class, complying with strict quality standards of both GL and MCA.
