  1. Second Hatteras 100-foot motoryacht under construction

U.S builder Hatteras has started construction on the second 100-foot motoryacht. In fact work was going on for a while on the second hull. The first hull, launched and now completed as "Mr. Loui" kicked off the 100 RPH series for Hatteras. The second hull has now been moved to the main production area as Hatteras shows it being cradled into the indoor hall via travel lift.

The second hull is designed by the in-house team at Hatteras and fetaures a hard-top to shade the sun deck. Dual 1,900 horse power Caterpillar C-32 marine engines will run the first hull (Mr Loui). The engine sets in standard configuration provide a top speed of 25-knots. There is also a cruising speed of 19-knots and at a reduced speed, a range of 680 nautical miles can be covered. However, a prospective owner, if they should choose, could opt for a more powerful version. That set-up would involve a pair of 2,600 horse power MTU 16V 2000 engines that allow for a top speed of 29-knots.

On the interior, there will be a large American styled galley fit for any chef to be comfortable in. Accommodation, will be for eight guests in four cabins. The accommodation layout is in a Master suite, two twin cabins and a sizable VIP-type suite. The second Hatteras 100-footer RPH is expected to launch next year and debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) in 2014.
