  1. IAG 140-foot megayacht "King Baby" starts construction

China-based yacht company IAG has recently started the construction of their largest yacht to date, the 140-foot megayacht named "King Baby". This project actually started out as a 135-foot and somehow grew an extra five feet. The client is an American from New York and the name of the yacht should sound familar as the client owned a 100' Hargrave of the same name.
  2. You may well know that IAG is a relatively new company having delivered two yachts so far, the IAG 127 "Primadonna" and the IAG 100 "Electra". Two other yachts are in-build along with King Baby. King Baby will not look anything like the previous two yacht because she will have her own individual style plus she is significantly larger than the other delivered yachts.

King Baby is a tri-deck luxury megayacht being made in fiberglass and reinforced with carbon fiber in some areas. She is RINA classed and is to be a future flagship of this young shipyard. Twin MTU 16V 2000 M94 engines will eventually run her to a top speed of 21-knots and a cruising speed of 17-knots according to IAG. The owner is experienced and in on alot of the design aspects of the boat. Naval Architecture is coming via Sergio Cutolo of Hydro Tec and Evan Marshall is on the interior design and styling.
