In Build: Benetti 61M "Diamonds are Forever"

60.95-meter "Diamonds are Forever" by Benetti​

Italian yacht manufacturer Benetti is working hard on bringing one of their new builds to completion. She is a 60.95-meter motor yacht being built under the hull ID FB 253 and likely to be named "Diamonds are Forever". The new vessel is being built to a design in-house by Benetti. The interior features sumptuous styling and conceptualization by Evan K. Marshall.

Hull FB 253 is expected to be able to sleep twelve guests in two master staterooms/VIP and four guest cabins. Enough cabins are onboard to sleep up to fifteen crew members. The interesting layout of the decks takes advantage of the more than 10.50-meter overall beam. Large windows allow natural light to pour into the Evan K. Marshall styled interior to showcase the various shades of browns and tans juxtaposed with creams and whites.

The steel hull and aluminum superstucture yacht is currently in the outfitting stages being prepared for upcoming launch a few months from now. Her many decks are spacious but the open air sun deck suggests much interest with it's split-deck formation. The aft section can be used as a touch-and-go heli pad or a large relaxing area outfitted with several lounge chairs. The forward part of the deck is almost another deck, existing forward of the radar arch/mast.

The specifications of Diamonds are Forever suggest she will mount twin CAT 3512C engines that are expected to run her to a top speed of 16 knots. A range of just under 5,000 nautical miles cruising at 12 knots is possible while drawing from 120,000 LT capacity fuel tanks. The Benetti displacement yacht is currently for sale and is expected to be delivered to her owner(s) by August 2011.
