  1. Amels sells first Limited Editions 199

Amels announced the sale of the first Amels Limited Edition 199. The 199 is well underway in construction already and the Tim Heywood design has caught the attention of a new owner. In fact the owner is not new to Amels as they are a repeat customer. The Limited Editions 199 features a plumb bow almost reminiscent from Amels' Sea Axe line but a number of custom features have been outlined by the owner to be incorporated into the design.

An enclosed lounge will be built on the sun deck, normally where a hard top would have been as seen on most of the Limited Edition models. Fold down balconies on either side of the main formal dining room are to be made to allow better views while dining. Another notable feature will be the touch-and-go helipad to be located on forward deck just aft of the forecastle area.

Directly below the helipad region will be a tender garage with shell doors on port and starboard sides for access to twin 8-meter tenders. On the interior, Laura Sessa has worked on the design and styling for this particular unit.

Normal guests numbers will be twelve but it is possible for fourteen to be onboard. A maximum of fourteen crew can be slept. Her top speed will be in the region of 16.5 knots and a range of 5,000 nautical miles at around 13 knots. The first Amels Limited Edition can be expected to be completed in 2013.
