  1. Alloy Yachts 56.40-meter "Mondango" ketch

New Zealand motor and sail luxury yacht builder Alloy Yachts have been chosen once again to construct the successor to the current 51.70-meter "Mondango" (built by Alloy Yachts in 2008). The successor will be a few meters larger at 56.40-meters LOA.

The owners of the current Mondango are going again with the same successful design team that worked on the above mentioned super sailing yacht. That design team includes Reymond Langton to fashion and design the interior and naval architecture is by Dubois Naval Architects.

It is easy to assume that with a larger platform that there will be more space to utilize. Some new features will make way onboard the successor Mondango such as two large tenders to be stored belowdecks in the foredeck. The jacuzzi will move from the bow to the stern on the new yacht and be larger. The centerboard will also swing-lift and allow the new Mondango to cruise shallower waters. It seems the owners are happy with the flybridge set up as the layout for that area on the new vessel is pretty similar.

Some quick figures on the new Mondango include an LOA of 56.40-meters, LWL of 50.20-meters, beam of 11.00-meters and a minimum draught of 4-meters (maximum is 11-meters). The displacement will be around 525-tonnes. She is AY46 at the Alloy Yachts yard and is expected to be completed in 2013.
