    Hi!

Can someone help me with this yacht: This is in Ponta Delgada ( Azores Islands ) It is docked in the new cruise terminal and marina that will ready in the next months. It is rather strange because it was here for a couple of days, then left and back again.

    Thanks.

Hey, welcome to YF as well. That one is quite hard to tell. She is so far away, do you have a better picture?

    Hi,

If it's a new dock you might find their name painted on the wall as they used to be in the old Port in Horta.

You could also ask the port or does the newspaper have a list of vessel movements.

Thanks for the picture of the new Marina. I have only stopped there once, about twenty years ago and at that time there were only a handful of buoys to use and then use tenders. We stayed a couple of days and drove around the whole island, I made a video so I can remind myself of this beautiful place. With a marina like this I guess you will get a lot more visitors!

    It is My Shanti.

The new Marina is part of " Portas do Mar ". A 60M Euros project that includes a ferry & cruise Terminal. stores, polls, etc..
Next to it they are bulding an underground parking garage and the 5 star Hotel Prince of Monaco Casino Azores.

The doubts that i have with this yacht is why is staying so long ( almost a week), thats a long stay only for refueling.

    Hi,

There can be many reasons why a yacht spends more than a few hours in a port that is normally just a re fueling spot.

I spent a week in Horta in 2002 after fueling en route to Ft Lauderdale owing to a poor weather outlook.

This was a bit of a bonus- it allowed for all the crew to get a look around the island, some hired motorcycles and a good time was had by all in a place where normally 90% of the Crew onboard do not even get the chance to get ashore.

They might also have some sort of mechanical problem and be awaiting spares or specialist help to get them fully functional again.
