I am trying to find info on a 1939 Elco 44 launched w/the name Doris III

    According to records at Mystic Seaport, the hull number was 172231 and her name was subsequently changed from Doris III to Hippo. Curious as to her background and condition, if anyone has any insights or reference sources!

    Call Elco and talk to Peter Houghton. They have all the build records for vessels going back to 1898. If they can't help you, PM me and I will find out what you need.
