I have a 1987 3207 Aft Cabin and truly love it, however, the boat owners prior to me neglected many of the maintence chores that should have been taken of..... My flybridge steering pump is leaking from the shaft seal and after ordering a repair kit and installing the new "O" rings and seal still have a shaft leak. I sent the pump to a marine repair yard to have it repaired and now after 3 weeks still don't have it repaired. The repair manager stated that Teleflex sent the incorrect shaft seal 3 times in the 3 the weeks I've been waiting. A new pump runs nearly $600 and I only need the correct seal....Any ideas from the forum how to get back on the water before Fall sets in ? Does anyone know if the lower help pump can be terminated by plugs and then moved to the flybridge helm ? Thanks for any advice, Truitt "Business Trip" Pamlico Sound, NC
Bleeding Hynautic Steering Pump Truitt -- I am sorry I don't have an answer for you, but if you check at your local hydraulic rebuild pump shop they may be able to help you. We are checking with a local shop here in Columbus to see if they can help us with parts for our 3207, or if they can do the work for us. As an aside, do you or anyone else have any information or knowlege on bleeding the system after replacing the hynautic pump in the upper helm?
