    Hi,

I have been informed this morning the Mr Hermann Schaedla the force behind Abeking and Rasmussen till very recently has passed away overnight.

This is a sad loss for his family and the company in general, even though he was not involved in everyday operations anymore he could still be seen wandering around surveying his domain.

Although I'm not familiar with this gentleman, it appears he lived a life of true accomplishment. A life well spent. Thanks to him for a good product and more so, the knowledge he undoubtedly passed on during that life. Condolences to his family and friends.

To run a major shipyard for 50 years takes a certain 'Bravado'. For sure, Hermann achieved a definate 'Eminence'. I never had the opportunity to meet Hermann, but I was fortunate to tour the legacy he leaves behind. Sincere condolences to his family and especially his son, Hans.
