    Hello All,

I am seeking some possible advice or help on how to gain employment in the marine sector in Dubai. I am a fully endorsed commercial Australian skipper to 36 meter's unlimited with 80 meter's coastal with various other professional marine and offshore qualifications. I am 25 years old, hardworking and extremely fastidious in all aspects of my working capacity, I am willing to start in any position at any level in order to prove that I would be a valuable addition to any vessel. My family is relocating to Dubai and I am finding it quite difficult to get a start over there, any information or help and I would be forever greatful.

    Kind Regards Troy

You could try an e-mail to Captain Hassan, who is the Port Captain. He was involved in the recruitment of crew for Project Platinum, soon to be the largest private yacht in the world at 160m! The yacht belongs to Sheik Mohammed the Crown Prince of Dubai. I was interviewed for the skipper's position, but unfortunately wasn't selected. Captain Hassan's e-mail address is <h.hassan@dpa.ae> If you don't get a reply I wouldn't be surprised, but it's worth a go, and being Australian I suspect may be an advantage.
    Good luck

You are most welcome. I hope something eventuates. I know the yacht in question has not yet been finished and I would guess that there are still crew positions that need filling.
As for me I am now retired and playing golf.
I would be interested to hear if you are successful.
