Taking a break from writing for a few minutes, re-filling my coffee cup and giving some serious thought to terrorizing a bag of cookies. I've been working on our latest feature review... Benetti's Ambrosia. Should be ready to go live in the next couple of days. Sorry so quiet. Lots of work going on behind the screen. Just wanted to say hello to everyone... Carl
I was just about to knock-off, catch the evening news, break out some kitchen utensils... and try to not to hurt myself.
LOL, you are so funny Carl.........It's great that you are working on the Ambrosia review. If it is better than the Vango review...i honestly wouldnt know if to look at it or not...So come good and kick it one more level...if u can because i think the Vango review is hard to beat!
Thanks Ron. We put a lot of effort into these features. They are often 3 times the size of a magazine review, but in my mind... this is still not enough. Today's builders are not only crafting works of art, they're mastering technical challenges that are above and beyond what most of us can comprehend. An entire book could be written on a single build. On Ambrosia... this has been one of the most difficult features we've done because Benetti was not able to supply us with the expanded build sheet (everyone's on vacation!). Without this, it's difficult at best to identify and describe the materials used throughout the build. Still, I believe the feature will be good because Benetti supplied us with an extensive selection of detailed images. Well, it’s nearly 10:00 PM and I’m fading fast. Night all...
heesan lover carl good heavens what a beautiful layout great job!!cant wait to see ambrosia thanks so much!!:I was dicussing sirroco thank heaven for post review.I am like that member that says feel free to correct my english!

Thanks Hi Carl, I have become a regular reader of your great website, I take my hat off to you as Iknow how much work there is in getting and running something like this. I'm running a small website by comparison to yours and it is not that easy. Well not for me anyway. Please be encouraged to keep up the good work it's great reading. Carl Nisbet
your reviews are outstanding Carl Carl, The first review I read when I first stopped in to this site has kept me coming back for each and everyone thereafter, each new one tops the previous and I just had to let you know I for one appreciate your hard work here. The Heesen Sirrocco so far is my favorite, though biased towards Heesens as you know, you seem to get the pictures that magazines either don't get or they just don't publish? I am a big fan of inlays and wood and Sirrocco has the goods. If you have other pics that didn't make it in the review I would love to see those as well, maybe you can set up a area of misc. pics of each yacht that includes every photo given to you? No subtitles needed, pictures like what you get do speak a thousand words as to design and quality of each manufacture anyways. I would love to see more details on wood and inlays, perhaps a indepth review on how they are even made? I am having a tough time here online finding good sites on exotic woods available and who the best craftsman in the world are that do these incredible inlays. How there constructed is of great interest to me. Same goes for tile and glass works! Ok enough brown nosing for now
Hi LC, Glad you enjoyed the Heesen review! In some cases, we have a large selection of images to work with. Benetti’s Ambrosia is an example. I’ve got over 500 images and I’ve selected the best 50 shots for publishing. Unfortunately, Heesen didn’t have pics of the engine room or galley on Sirocco, so I published most of the images supplied. But… you’ll be glad to know I thought of you while I was working on Sirocco! My neighbor makes aftermarket parts for the Lotus Elise and he’ll be taking the car to Morosso this season. Here’s a link… http://www.addco.net/news.htm With sub-compact car sales rising dramatically, the Elise may become one of the most sought after sports cars on the road. Darn hard to beat that car at slalom… or at the gas pump!
Thanks Carl, Ken. I'm just here trying to break code! It's you guys that make the site rock! BTW Carl... I feel your pain!
I've always liked the Elise since I first saw it in the euro mags years ago, but just a few weeks ago I saw one in the flesh for the first time (I think they just started selling in Canada this summer) and it is awesome looking! It must be such a blast to rip around in.
Carl, Looking forward to your review of Benetti's Ambrosia! Is it possible for you to include the Owner's Specification Lists (vessel's interior and exterior design, furniture, toys, amenities, etc. as required by owner) and how this was interpreted by the designers and builders. Thanks, Arnie
I think i posted something in the Heesen's motoryachts thread about the Sirocco. Her interiors are the best of all the yachts i have seen so far. They are very very good. The inlays as was said...the choice woods....the tones.. and fabrics...and lighting... i esp like that hierolgyphics (sp) like in the mirror in one of the bathrooms- i have never seen that before on a yacht! I have seen Many Many yachts over my limited time....and usually the design is excellent in one area... either in the exterior or the interior. I think yachts should have an excellent exterior and interior and not just one persay. What made the review better was the presentation of the pics and the wording...Offcourse with help from the Capt of Sirocco and the Yard....Carl made an exceptionally stunning review. The review before this was Westports' Vango...that only won over the Sirocco review because of the writen elements in my judgement. So in essence keep up the very good work Carl..
I love my Elise, For me it is a perfect sized sports car, for someone larger though I honestly don't know how they get in and out and drive the darn thing! I mean the pedals are not even a inch apart from each other and the footwell narrows dramatically too! Being a Lotus it is quirky and has a few rattles that perhaps most are not used to in a 50k car, but this sure isn't a ordinary sports car either! I have done a few autocrosses located near my mom when I was in town and being new to that I was in the beginners group, well no one came even close to the times I had and I even beat a Porsche GT 2! considering my car is less then half the price of his, yet looks more then twice the price of his was I think I have one heck of a bargin. Surprisingly all the dealers still have a few 05's on thier lot, plenty of the 06's and Lotus has suspended the build of the 07's for now, So this is the time to get the below MSRP discounts! This car is just not for everyone and more then a few have sold thiers with only 500 miles on the odometer after finding out they just can't live without creature comforts. I will have to get over to Moroso if I am around when the races are on, same goes for Sebring, nothing more fun then watching the cars go by at breakneck speeds....
Wow! That is a far cry from my old Super 7. If you really want a tight fit try squeezing into an old Europa. Lotus survivor Kelly
