Project 'Sparta' at Heesen just started construction with the keel being laid on October 19th 2020. A Greek coin was welded into the keel for the usual good luck. This vessel is Winch Design inside and out and should be finished in 2023. This yacht was sold late last year and is based on the Project Avanti design we saw that first came to light in 2018 at the MYS. Onboard there will have an internal volume of 1,200 gross tonnes... enough to keep her owner and guests comfortable and happy. To be powered by a pair of MTU 12V4000 M65R's the anticipated top end is 16-knots. Dialed back to 12-knots the yacht aims to have a 4,500 nautical mile range.

Here is a look at progress on Project Sparta, this is Heesen's largest steel build so far. Build is still on track for 2023.

The hull was recently towed to the Heesen yard in Oss where the superstructure is now joined with the hull and the yacht has now been moved into hall 5 for outfitting to relaunch for completion in 2023.

After Project 'Skyfall' is launched, the next vessel in line for 2023 launch should be Project 'Sparta'.
