It seems that there will be a successor to the current m/y Man Of Steel which is off course a member of the ever popular Heesen 3700s series. The second MOS seems to be white as well as the rendering suggests. A delivery sometime in 2008 should be expected. She will combine new design with a mixture of design elements from the m/y Yalla and the 3700s. This vessel will be of 50M the same length as the m/y Galactica and will have a beam of 9M. A speed of 14 knots and will have her Naval Architecture done by the Heesen team. Would be interesting to see her when she is launched. http://www.heesenshipyards.nl/HEESE...&mid=362&tid=131¶meter=Under construction
Update The 50M or 164 foot full displacement newbuild from Heesen is on course for delivery in September 2008. Man of Steel is this newbuild and will feature new design elements over the 3700 series of the same name. The new Man of Steel will have forward sloping bridge windows which is alternate to the 3700. She will apparently carry two pools, one on the aft sundeck and the other on the aft bridge deck. She will carry a hard top that will have a retractable fabric center. Man of Steel will carry navigation consoles in bubbles on the port and starboard sides of the wheelhouse. For now she will be in a similar colour scheme as the 3700 version. She is under build number YN13750 with a possible launch envisioned a month or so before September, August. A length of 50M, a beam of 9M and a speed of 14 knots are known. ***
"Inception" (ex. "Man of Steel" has finally been sold, this vessel was for sale for a while...for about two years. There is no indication what her new name will be.
