having problems with my rudder stuffing block 355 carver

    the rudder stuffing block is in the back corner on starboard side behind the bathroom wall under the steering it is leaking and is corroded need some ideas of how to reach it to remove it and seal seal it the cuboard is out all ready this is a carver 355 ,plus how do i remove the packing it seems siezied also on the rudder.

    Pull out the drawer on the night stand. You will see the rudder..

    I have had an issue with that one as well. I tightened mine once and it was hard to get a wrench on. I would get some PB blaster and soak it for a long while. Afterward try to get a wrench on it -- very tight quarters -- and repack. I was thinking about buying a large wrench and cutting the handle down to get to mine. That is my next project... have to repack both.
