Hi, the recent storm here in Northern California was great for many reasons, but it also pointed out a couple of nasty window leaks in our 2001 Horizon 76.

I'm looking for a recommendation for someone who specializes in boat/yacht windows, preferably in Northern California, but anything on the West Coast (San Diego up to Seattle) might work. Nothing shows up in my searches for the San Francisco Bay Area (other than normal home or auto glass shops).

An example of the work needed is to rebuild / replace all the weather stripping in the skylounge windows, one section of which on each side slides, so it's more than simply cutting out old Sikaflex and replacing.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I don’t know of anyone in Nor Cal. I use Marco Drovandi at MDI in Newport Beach/Costa Mesa. He does what you’re looking for.

Thank you, RER! I'll give him a call and see if he's willing to travel north.

I don’t understand the job you are describing. I don’t know of a yacht glass company.
I do know that Schooner Creek Boatworks in Portland OR just removed and properly rebedded all of my windows and port lights and had two large windows fabricated in Pennsylvania to replace poorly designed and installed original windows in my 50 foot boat. Mind you these are all fixed windows. They are certainly worth a call. Talk to Cory.

They are built in Taiwan. I doubt any direct or OEM support on 20 year old windows.
Also sure you are not the first person to ask about window support.
I wonder if the main dealer could point you to a local shop with Horizon custom window experience.

Bummer, because he could handle it. No plans to cruise down to So Cal? That’s what birds and boaters do - head south for the winter.

    Thanks, CR, worth a try!

While this boat was still in Ft Lauderdale, I did talk with Paul @ Ocean View Yacht Windows. I wouldn't be surprised if Horizon points me to him. He was confident that he could do the work, but unfortunately we didn't have enough time there in FL prior to moving the boat west. I may ultimately just need to fly Paul and his crew out for a week during this winter's haulout.
