    Looking for advice on how to pull my generator forward to access and replace leaking exhaust elbow and hose. I have the top, port, and forward enclosure sides off, but need another 4-6 inches behind the unit.

    It is tucked in behind the engine room ladder see picture. Thinking I might be able to pull it forward with a small chain pull and around its engine mount and the main engine mounts. The hoses and wiring all look to have enough slack.

    I have no idea how I would push it back into place.

    To push it back you put a beam between the engine mounts and use a bottle jack . Or maybe two.

    If you need help with a leaking exhaust elbow, I know a guy ;).

    Pull it up onto a piece of 3/4 plywood across the stringers then use some small wooden dowls underneath the genny to roll it back.

    Trying to do it myself to stretch my boating funds. As a backup plan is your guy in MA?

    You need to do as suggested with the plywood, then loosen/remove the motor mounts and roll the engine on it's side (forward). That will grant you enough access to change the exhaust manifold. Remove the ladder obviously first.

    I don’t think it will be feasible to raise the genny so it can be pulled on top of the stringers

    I'm not talking about raising it or pulling it forward, just rotating it forward so it's sitting on the side of the block.

    Moved the generator forward, twisted and tilted it to get access. Removed the exhaust hose in the picture. Trying to decide wether to replace it with the same or if the blue silicon hose is easier to work with. Any advice appreciated. upload_2022-4-9_8-5-8.jpeg

    Blue silicone will most likely collapse with those bends. I'd stick to wire bound marine wet exhaust hose.

    They do make a corrugated silicon hose. Little pricey, but I would use it if it was my boat.
