Here is a thread to cover some of the Garage Doors we see on superyachts keeping a seal on those expensive tenders and toys in the garage. This one was made for a 67-meter superyacht, quite cool to see it in operation even before the yacht was completed.
What didn't make sense to me, is why are all the mechanisms for the "deadbolt" locking pins inside the door casing and not inside the hull casing. This makes many moving parts and lots of added weight inside the door. If the deadbolt actuators were in the hull, the door itself could be "dumb" and just have receiver sockets. Lighter, simpler, and less moving parts inside the door.
Totally understand that. It is just more sensible to put the weight and the actuating systems for the locking pins in the hull itself rather than the aluminium door.
