I am looking at buying a boat with twin 12v92 trying to get a idea of comsumtion at different rpm to throw a twist this boat has hamiton jet drives
Jet drives are very in-efficient at slow speeds. At 1000 rpm's you'll be burning 15 gph (both) but probably only doing 7 knots, at 1950 rpms around 120 gph.
I have 12v92's TTA at 1,050 hp each. Not sure which model/hp 12v92's you are looking at. I have traditional props so can't speak to the jet drives but here's what I have on fuel burn (total for both engines) 1850 RPM's - 80 gals/hr (this is where I normally cruise and is about 72% engine load) 1950 RPM's - close to 90 gals/hr 2350 RPM's (WOT) - 125 gals/hr Slow cruise at 1,000 - 1,100 RPM's is about 15 gals/hr as Capt J said. But not sure where he gets 120 at 1,950? Hope this helps
I ran a set of J+T 12v92 TA's pre- ddec and that's what they burned. The 12v71 TIs I have run usually burn 80 or 90 gph at 1900.
