The portevergladeswebcam is starting to heat up with yachts arriving and moving North on the Intracoastal to the various locations of FLIBS.

This morning their webcam caught the 9th largest yacht registered for the show, Diamonds Are Forever, arrive in Fort Lauderdale.

On the heels of DAF is Copasetic!

    And then the mysterious Mystique.

If you can't make the show on your own bottom then a yacht transport ship may be more your style.

    And let the games begin!

Private Jets Play A Big Part In FLIBS

It is being reported in the Fort Lauderdale newspaper the Sun-Sentinel that more private jets than ever before are confirmed to arrive here for the boat show.

National Jets has 26 scheduled to be here.

Sheltair has about 150 private jets that they will be taking care of during the show.

The only South Florida event that draws more private aircraft is of course the Super Bowl.

So whether you are arriving by jet, limo, tender, or dinghy get ready for one heck of a boat show extravaganza!!!

Last year here is how things stacked up in the +100 foot categories.

+200' 5 Felicita West, Kismet, Allure, Laurel, Northern Star
180' to 200' 5 Harbor Island, Four Aces, Excellence III, Mi Sueno, Unbridled
    160' to 180' 12
    140' to 160' 25
    120' to 140' 35
    100' to 120' 46

    Total 128

For 2012 this is how things are shaking out:

    +200' 4 -1 Cakewalk 284', Kismet 223', Turmoil 209' Baton Rouge 205'
    180' to 200' 5 April Fool 200', Diamonds Are Forever 200', Lady Linda 187', Zenji 183', Harbor Island 180'
    160' to 180' 19 +7
    140' to 160' 24 -1
    120' to 140' 36 +1
    100' to 120' 58 +12

Total 146 or an net increase of 18 biggies in the +100 categories!!!

With the number of price reductions leading the numbers of all measures of yacht business activity this year I have a feeling the market is ripe for one of the most active shows in terms of sales activity we have seen in a long time!

Through the 3rd quarter there have been 550 yacht price reductions!!!!! It sounds like owners are really starting to get serious about selling in this unprecedented buyers market.

Things will be a hoppin on the docks of FLIBS this year so stay tuned for a fantastic time!!!

For those of you lucky enough to be attending please share your photos, videos, and reports of the new and exciting at FLIBS here on YF!

    Pre-Show Preparation

The setup of FLIBS begins weeks in advance with the building of the floating docks, setting the mooring piles, and then lining up all the yachts in a neat tidy row!

    lineumup.JPG

The boats and exhibits further in from the face dock get loaded first like these two beauties Carpe Diem II and what I think is the new Ocean Alexander 120?

    oa.JPG

    In the queue is Paradigm.

    paradigm.JPG

And of course everybody's favorite the ubiquitous Diamonds Are Forever!

    DAF.JPG

Towering above many yachts in the show is the around the world adventure yacht Copasetic.

I was very lucky to catch this strikingly powerful looking Mangusta 165 as she came up the Intracoastal!

    mangusta.JPG

In these detail shots you see her front half

    man1.JPG

is just as beautiful as her back half!

    man2.JPG

Diamonds Are Forever does not look to bad from the back either!

    daf2.JPG

Can you hold your tongue and say tuna tower three times real fast??

    tunatower.JPG

I am sorry to say I do not know who makes this gorgeous beauty.

    Can someone hazard a guess?

It is a sleepy Sunday at the FLIBS site this morning, but overnight a few stars arrived while the rest of us were sawing logs!

    SB.JPG

    Man your battle stations!!

Sea Bowld has been on my short list for quite a while and after her most recent price adjustment to $11.9M she is almost within my grasp!

This bad girl tops out at 27 knots(31mph) and can cruise at 24 knots(28mph).

    Haul arse Wardell!!!!!

    scottfree.JPG

With the deals I predict will be cut at the show you just might feel like you are getting off Scott Free with this beauty!

    sbbunch.JPG

I would not mind being a part of this raft up where Mustang Sally stands head and shoulders above the rest!

She is one of 5 Westport 130s that will be strutting their stuff for you at the show!

    Ride Sally Ride!!!!!!!

    img.JPG

This is a great example of IMG's go fast 40 footer.

    shortfuse.JPG

Do you think this guy looks like he might have a Short Fuse???!!!!

They say you are judged by the company you keep, this raft up looks like pretty darn good company to me!!

    BB.JPG

This Battered Bull does not look the least bit battered to me.

If fact she looks like she is ready to run a few rings around the globe.

    Ole' Ole'!!!

    odrive.JPG

Diamonds Are Forever gave birth to a couple of beautiful babies overnight.

Two more Benettis joined her flock, Ocean Drive in front with Domani in between.

Looks like a delicious Benetti sandwich to me! Yum! Yum!! Yum!!!

    oa2.JPG

Hot off the rails Ocean Alexander's brand soanking new 120 tri-deck design is making quite the grand entrance at FLIBS!

From her gorgeous derriere you can easily tell her wide bodied full beam offers mucho space in her cavernous garage, on her fantail, sky deck and fly bridge for loads of people to have lots of fun!!

If her frontside looks as good as her backside I would say OA definitely has a hit on their hands!

    laz.jpg

In front of Lazarra's high tech floating showroom we find their super cool Breeze 76 model getting prepped for the show.

Ellix II is sharp in her new blue hull!

While she was a real head turner in her original lipstick red configuration http://www.yachtforums.com/forums/isa-yacht/2085-isa-156-ellix-ii-updated-pics.html I think she will now appeal to a much wider market.

    ellix.JPG

D'Natalin is quite the classic Delta yacht.

Allure Shadow is literally in her shadow once the sun passes over D'Natlin's yardarm!!

    dnatlin.JPG

Aurora is an agelss beauty of Feadship fame.

    aurora.JPG

At 154' with an elevator and oh so groovy Polynesian decor how terrible could it really be to be Mr. Terrible!!

You will see what I mean when you check her out inside http://www.yachtforums.com/forums/delta-yacht/9819-review-deltas-154-mr-terrible.html

    Give me a break!!!

What a glorious sight, glistening in the early morning sunlight, we find Mazu the newly launched 2nd in the series of Marco Polo yachts built by Cheoy Lee and designed by Ron Holland waiting to be loaded into the show lineup.

    Compliments of the portevergladeswebcam

Waiting patiently in the background is an empty Yacht Transport Ship.

    Carl,

Please stop by and say hello, I only have half a boat at the booth but I think you'll like it. BTW, are we all getting together somewhere?

    Count on it.
Can't count on that. I've only got two days at FLIBS, then I'm headed to Orlando for the NBAA.

The 'empty Yacht Transport Ship' is "Yacht Express"...flagship of Dockwise Yacht Transport. You can access their website through the wrap-around banners on YF.
