After years of reading this forum pre-ownership, to my purchase of Karma (54’ Pama Flybridge M/Y) in 2018, to spending 4 years exploring the ICW in South Florida and Abacos… I now have something relevant to post.

May 1 we departed Fort Lauderdale heading to New England

    Leg 1. May 1-May 5
    1. FLL-Palm Beach; Ubered to The Breakers for dinner. Wow
    2. To Titusville. Long day, but could run fast north of Stewart
    3. To St Augustine. Fantastic city
    4. To St Simons. Ubered into town
    5. To Savannah/Thunderbolt. Great city to explore and eat.
Left at Thunderbolt for a month.

Leg 2. May 21-24 I auctioned a trip for a charity and took 2 couples on a jaunt.
    6. Savannah to Beaufort SC
Very cool city- ate at Saltus
    7. To Charleston. Love this town
Left boat at City Maria for a month.

    Leg 3. June 15-23
    8. To Southport
    9. To Oriental NC. Pretty area
    10. To Coinjock. Get the Prime Rib
    11. To Norfolk. (Had to wait one day die to weather. Toured USS Wisconsin
    12. To Baltimore ( Fairview Marina between Baltimore & Annapolis)
    Left it for a month.

    Leg 4. July 16-26
    13. Baltimore to Mansaquan. Fantastic sea cons around Cape May
    14. Arrive NYC Liberty Landing. Teared up when went under Veranzano Narrows and saw NYC & Statue of Liberty. stayed 6 days @ Liberty Landing - took ferry daily to NYC. Family visited.
    15. NYC Port Washington. Short day so our guests could get used to boat. East River is awesome.
    16. PWash- Essex CT. Our plan was to go to Block Is then Nantucket was thwarted due to high winds and our guests had to depart. Left boat in Essex

    Leg 5 Aug 25-Sept 2
    17. Essex to Block Island. Very cool
    18. Block Is to Sag Harbor. Literally followed Jimmy Buffet’s sailboat Drifter into the breakwater.
    19. Sag to NYC. This time paid $$$ to stay at North Cove Marina under World Financial Center. Roll-y but awesome location. Walked High Line the. Went up on “The Edge” platform. Could see from LIS -East River-Veranzano Narrows and up Hudson. Put the trip into perspective.
    20. NYC to Chesapeake City MD. Again great cond on Atlantic Jersey shore - only challenge was fighting outgoing tide up the Delaware.
    21. Back to Fairview MD

Had some A/C problems, but called ahead and a guy met me in St Aug. picked up debris on ac water pump strainer and genset - simple
Fox. Few racor filter change , but pretty great mechanicals.

    Lessons Learned
    1. Fuel Mgmt: better to keep
    fueled than run low. Duh
    2. Be flexible on weather planning
    3. Paying more at North Cove and Sag was worth it.
    4. Leaving boat for a month at a time s d flying home was easy.
    5. My 2022/2023 winter home will be Baltimore so next summer I can explore Chesapeake and New England again

    it was awesome.
