Roughly thirty three years ago, I got to shake President Kennedy's hand. A few months later he was dead, and I thought surely my world would end. My grandad sat me on his knee, and I hoped he could console me as we looked across Lake Greers Ferry toward the very spot where JFK had stood. He said; "Son, you're going to have to accept that neither of us will be around forever. And the best thing you can do in life is to learn to stand tall, like that mighty oak tree. Someday there will be a lot more acts of 'terrorism,' and you have no earthly idea just how valuable all that water will become." Herbert Thomas had created nearly every significant man-made lake in Arkansas. Sometimes he would take me to watch as they built the new dam, and beneath the dam he had built a trout fishery. But, for the life of me, I still can't figure out where all that beautiful deep blue water came from? Sorry to get so sentimental, but here's the story, read it and weep. "Million Fish Die In Colorado At Once" http://rense.com/general75/mill.htm
Hi, That's a pretty serious article. Those are some nice size fish laying there dead , they don't get replaced in a couple of months.
Skies of Blue, Seas are Green Really, I'm just looking for some quaint fishing village, where I hope to enjoy the rest of my days with a saute pan in my right hand, and a glass of cool Chardonnay in the other,... and I sure hope this is not a terminal global trend!
These dead areas/fishkills are not as rare as one would hope. I've seen them in the Gulf of Mexico, off the coast of Brazil, west coast of India, west coast of central africa and other places. No explanation, just acres of dead sea life. Close in to shore you'd expect the birds would be on to these but they are not to be seen. There is some suspicion that ships have been dumping toxic loads rather than delivering them to their destinations. Few years ago flying low and slow off Papua New Guinea and the pilot nailed it and started climbing as fast as he could go. We could smell carbon tetrachloride in concentrations high enough to make us nauseated.
Codger's seen it all. It's just hard to imagine someone dumping DDT in the majestic Colorado River. One logical explaination would be a thermal-burst from a fissure. I just hope we don't see all the western Salmon go belly-up as well. Both sides of this warming debate are giving me whiplash. But, weather modification via HAARP, with active tri-coordinates via GWEN towers, positively have created straight line cloud-patterns across this entire nation, not to mention a few perfectly round holes in the clouds. If in doubt, you have to check the real-time satellite images to detect them. I'm convinced this greatly contributed to Katrina's path. Nonetheless, the old Soviet-style Omega system could also pin-point radiation anywhere in North America:... "Don't believe us, General?, -watch this!" Cold-war, or full-regalia, since we are not going to get any 'Gov. accountability' in the near future, everyone on this planet will have to adopt a conscious role in protecting its resources.
Hello Max, This sort of scene is really disturbing. What are we doing to our waters of the world...do we really know?? I had posted a few related subjects here: Sonar Killing Whales & Other Sea Life http://www.yachtforums.com/forums/general-yachting-discussion/4919-sonar-killing-whales-other-sea-life.html Dolphin Massacre http://www.yachtforums.com/forums/general-yachting-discussion/6585-dolphin-massacre-japan.html Might I suggest you post this message to another forum who's sizable membership often do not participate here, or maybe just put a reference on that other site to direct them to this posting? http://www.boatdesign.net/ On a much lighter note, I would direct your attention to this: Boating, Fishing, Siesta http://www.yachtforums.com/forums/29291-post36.html
Down the street there's a guy who keeps bees. This year he has two active stacks, where he used to have six or more. I haven't asked him if he knows why, but I suspect the bees are dying from cell tower emmisions. Over 600 miles of the Mississippi are considered 'dead-zones,' and they know this is caused from N-run-off on the typical Delta farms. The scum-pond reaches to New Orleans, but I'm not mentioning anything new. ProBiotic-researchers can make that water clear, but will it save the fish? The only thing I can tell you is, what goes round, comes round! I've made the rounds of other forums, and I'm afraid this is my last trip around that pond.
Texas Dolphin Die-off: http://www.reuters.com/article/scie...0070320?src=032007_0931_DOUBLEFEATURE_science
Texas Dolphin Die-off Just a shot in the dark. There was a horrendous quantity of nasty stuff emptied in to the Gulf when New Orleans was being drained. If a yacht dumped one bucket load of that brew overboard and got caught, somebody would be paying large or doing time. Perhaps some of that witches brew is starting to show it's ugly face.
Thats right. We had two, maybe three major chemical storage facilities immediately to the N.E. of the 9th Ward, consisting of multiple, 60-100' in diameter tanks lifting right off their foundations. All one needed note was the mention of 'colorless,' 'dio-' and '-toxins' in the same sentence to have a fairly clear idea what this meant! Meanwhile, (just like 9/11) first-responders and citizens were made completely unaware of these chemical poisons. Which, we can safely assume, are dangerous for human consumption at just a few parts per million. {Check the misc. ingredients for manufacturing 'PVC.'} Of course, CNN/FoxNews teams were all over the dramatic 'oil-spill,' which made for great fly-over impact on TV. Actually, it was pretty to see all those rainbow patterns covering 10 miles or more of the Mississsippi, but not so 'pretty' if you couldn't leave,- permanently.
