Firearms aboard in T & C and other Islands

    Heading down island this winter and most likely will stop in Turks & Caicos to refuel. Expect to end up in St. Marten. We carry firearms, but I don't know the regs in these particular countries. Any and all input is welcomed.

    You have surrender them at both places. You also have to pick them up at the same ports. Be prepared for a long wait to pick them up......

    To be honest, firearms aren't worth the hassle Down Island. Until you get to Venezuela and Columbia, they aren't needed in the true sense. Miami is more dangerous.

    Unless you plan on anchoring off shanty-towns and hanging out with drug dealers, leave them at home.

    Otherwise you have to keep them hidden, lie about them being on board and be willing suffer the consequences if there are found by the authorities.

    Thanks for the replies. That is just what I suspected. Think I'll leave these toys behind for this trip. Don't want to risk losing them or worse.
