Are there and market leaders in terms of fire detection & access systems on yachts?

I've been surfing around a little bit but didn't find much useful info. We'd like to stick with a major player like Honeywell as they have both access and fire alarm systems they don't seem to target the maritime sector.

try surfing around the tycho website..
the support is a bit hard though as they have 2 products one for North America and another for Europe.. and no cross training of the support staff.

Is standard equipment on some feadships

We are installing in our new built Yacht the Salwico CS4000 fire detection system of Consilium Marine. It a Swedish Company and supposed to be one of the leading suppliers in European Yachts. The most of Baglietto Yachts are equipped with this system

Hello all, first post for me. I'd be tempted by the Tyco/Thorn units - we've been fitting them on our boats for a while. As I recall one head failure in the last four years has been the sum total of our problems, and that was just a poor connection to the base unit. Not bad all told.

    Fire and access system equipment

    Hi

The one thing I would caution is to use products that are not specific to the one Company, you will pay through the nose for service and parts at a later date, so I would suggest using generic system equipment that can be serviced by other organisations if possible.
