The Feadship m/y Space is the first of the new series of yacht by Feadship, called the SL series. The m/y Space was launched today, Saturday 26, May 2007 at Feadship Van Lent Yard. She is a very nice yacht in pictures. Her keel was laid on Thursday, April 25th, 2005 at the Kaag Island. The F45 Vantage concept took over 2 years and some 5000 man hours to complete. All of this hard work came to fruition with today's launching. The hard work is not totally over as yet because she still has to go the the finishing hall and undergo sea trials before being handed over to the new owner. The Second F45 is due to be launched this year as well but later on. Some brief specifications for this class LOA: 44.65M BOA: 9.20M Draught:2.70M Speed: 14.5 knots Main Engines: 2 x MTU 12V2000M70 788kw/1055 bhp For more you can see computer generated images of the F45 here at: http://www.f45.nl/Feadship_vantagef45.html http://www.f45.nl/
Feadship F45 and SL It was a nice Saturday, and no rain which is a nice change. Indeed, Space is the first F45 Vantage by Feadship, a semi-custom high end 45 metre yacht. The inspiration for the series has been what we called the "SL" project within Feadship. The outcome of this research program is the F45 at Van Lent and the SL39 series at De Vries. The F45 is the maximum quality and volume possible under the 500 tons volume limit. The SL39 is a flexible design platform, allowing the owner full flexibility on exterior and interior on a fixed 'grid' (not unlike the automobile industry's shared platform strategies). The first series of three F45 Vantage yachts (all sold) will be coming out in 2007 and 08, the SL 39 mk1 will be delivered summer 2008, with mk2 following at the end of 08, and mk3 (still for sale) late 09. I hope to have clarified Feadship's SL-related program somewhat Feadship quality for the 21st Century in a more compact package! Henk de Vries III
Yes you must be well pleased with the way the market has taken to both the 39 and 45 metre concepts. The f45 Space looks particularly attractive on the exterior, with the hull windows forward on the main deck visually reducing the appearance of volume in the bow. Originally I believe that Feadship was going to limit the number of hulls in each series to under 10 - is that still the case? Regards Markjd
Hi Henk, Thank you for the details on the F45 program. We're honored that you have joined the discussion. I am hopeful you can find time to chime in more often.
Space Found some nice pics of the SPACE on webshots. This yacht is really beautiful. I cannot wait to know what her interior is like. http://community.webshots.com/album/559193716NFGeqP
Space in my opinion, has an interior out of this world. There are a few pics on the Burgess website. Incredible stuff!
Anyone know what make is the T/T "Space"? http://photos.marinetraffic.com/ais/showphoto.aspx?photoid=778920&size=full
