www.snopes.com is another good one for just that purpose. I have an over-reactive grandmother who forwards every "omg there's a computer virus, health warning, CDC, gang murder, lost child, terrorist plot, etc." email she gets and I spend a good deal of time looking them up and writing back to her.

Since everyone reading this is using a computer, sure seems like there should be more favorites listed.

I just discovered a site that has marine acronyms. Does anyone have one that is more expansive?
