Story seems to be, shot in the back @0100 from another boat. Unless someone was target shooting and not a good shot it sound like someone kept dangerous company. Kind of makes you think of the old Miami days.

One shot in the dark onto a moving target, and maybe from a moving target? Either two people were very unlucky or one person was very good at their job. Of course that assumes the shot came from off the boat which may or may not be the case. Sounds like the CSI team will be very busy.

Yes I did, in fact several. No bullet found, reports that the shot came from another boat, but no confirmation, maybe he was the target, maybe he was mistaken for one of his guests. Several references to the word "contract" (which I doubt is hapenstance, but more like sensationalized reporting, true or not.) To me it sounds like someone messed with the wrong people, but at this stage it could just as easily been someone target shooting someplace nearby and all having unfortunate luck. What would have concerned me more would have been if a bunch of gunfire were just laid down. That would more raise the question of whether he was the target or any rich guy would do. That doesn't seem to be the case so far.

NYCAP123, as you probably know by now, YachtForums comes very high on a Google search. I don't think it is to our benefit or will help the case if we start speculating on things we have zero knowledge about.

The case is nothing but speculation, and this is nothing more than discussion. I discuss it because there are will be many lines of thought on the matter, some of which could be of concern to the yachting community. Of course, if it is to be published as a news story and nothing more, maybe it should be kept to the papers or the thread should be closed to discussion.
