The time has come for the semi completed hull - Name Project 55, to be moved from Babcock's Appledore shipyard to the finishing centre in Plymouth.

This large hull was moved out of the dry dock by 3 tugs at High Tide in early December.
The 20 hour tug pull to the Plymouth would see this yacht finished over the next 9 months plus.
Project 55 was started at Babcocks Appledore facility where the 200 or so workers have been busy completing.

Babcock have reported that they no longer wish to bid for any further yacht work, just remain on the military.
Appledore with be a major palyer in building the UK's 2 new aircraft carriers, namely the bow sections.

In order NOT infringe on any copyrighted pictures, please use this link to see 25 pictures of 'Project 55' on her tow out.

I'm not overly impressed with the shape of her, but do I see a straight bow? Would be interested to see more shots of that if you run across any.

Yes it is straight, a'la "Aviva"...Almost reminds me of Predator when her hull was being transported. They tried to hide the shape of the reverse bow by adding a frame and fabric to make it look straight, and it kinda looks like how Project 55's bow looks at the moment only thing this one is straight for real.
